Solicitors' Negligence
Solicitors' negligence can take many forms; from advising you to pursue a hopeless case, to failing to issue court proceedings in time, to a personal injury claim undersettled, to failing to deal with your conveyancing transaction properly, or to failing to ensure that the will of a deceased loved one accurately recorded their wishes.
All cases are subject to a limitation period by which time court proceedings have to be started. Solicitors sometimes miss these dates, particularly in personal injury claims when work is delegated to untrained and unsupported / overloaded staff. Often they are dealt with by inexperienced staff who fail to collect evidence or properly or quantify the claim, leading to delay, undersettlement of the claim, losing the claim , or failing to "beat" a settlement offer -leading to an award of costs against you / reduction in your claim.
